Laser Tattoo Removal Training All Across the US

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

Laser tattoo removal is an expanding cosmetic procedure all across the United States and New Look Laser College has the only specialized laser tattoo removal training course available in the United States and abroad. We have had students who have set up their own stand-alone laser tattoo removal business, those who have opened up their own laser tattoo removal business inside of another operating business such as a tattoo shop or hair salon, and those who have undertaken tattoo removal training in order to expand the services they are able to offer with their employer. Laser tattoo removal training is an excellent way to either begin your first career or to transition to another career.

Our students have come from all over the United States and have great success because of the practical nature of our course. The instructors at New Look Laser College are experts in laser tattoo removal and love helping others enter the business. Some laser colleges see students as potential competitors – we see students as collaborators and new friends. Here are just a few of the cities we have found to be great markets for laser tattoo removal.

Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Boston, New Hampshire, New York City, Louisiana, Detroit, Jacksonville, San Diego, Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Francisco, New Mexico, Baltimore, Omaha, Memphis, Charlotte, Washington DC, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Fort Worth, Denver, Seattle, Atlanta, Kansas City, Miami, Colorado Springs, Fresno, Bakersfield, Long Beach, Chicago, Philadelphia, El Paso, Portland, Oklahoma City, Orlando, Tucson, and Sacramento.

Medlite C6 and Revlite training

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

New Look Laser College offers laser tattoo removal training for all tattoo removal lasers. Systems that we have extensive experience with include the Astanza Trinity, Astanza Duality, Candela TriVantage, Hoya ConBio Medlite C6 and Revlite tattoo removal lasers, Cynosure Affinity QS, and Palomar Q-YAG-5.. New Look Laser College specializes in laser tattoo removal training and enables our students to develop expertise on several tattoo removal lasers so that they will be familiar with their use in clinical settings.

New Look Laser College provides training on the Astanza Trinity and Astanza Duality lasers. Astanza Lasers is one of the only laser manufacturers that specializes in tattoo removal lasers, and their Trinity offers a combination Nd:YAG and Ruby laser that allows for removal of the traditional colors effectively addressed by 1064nm and 532nm wavelengths, as well as the blues and greens that a ruby laser is very effective at removing.

Hoya ConBio’s Medlite C6 is one of the more commonly used lasers for laser tattoo removal, although it probably isn’t the top machine available. It offers four wavelengths of light – primarily the 1064nm and 532nm but also the 585nm and 650nm – to remove a wide range of colors. The 585nm and 650nm impregnated dye hand pieces are significantly underpowered and aren’t used by many practitioners. We give students recommended protocols that reveal the fluence, spot size, and other settings for these machines. As part of our tattoo removal training program we also give students advice on the Revlite (also made by Hoya ConBio), Cynosure’s Affinity QS, and the Palomar Q-YAG-5.

If you are interested in setting up a laser tattoo removal clinic or expanding your aesthetic skill set by offer laser tattoo removal treatments, please contact New Look Laser College at 713-783-2000 or visit our website to learn more about our training.

What is a Medical Director for a Tattoo Removal Clinic?

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

Many students here at New Look Laser College are interested in setting up their own laser tattoo removal clinic. One of the most frequently asked questions has to do with “medical directors” – what are they, what are the medical director’s responsibilities, who can be one, what does the medical director for a tattoo removal clinic get in the way of compensation, etc. During our laser tattoo removal training course, we discuss the issue of medical directors in depth and provide plenty of practical suggestions and tips.

The instructors at New Look Laser College are also the owners and operators of a successful chain of laser tattoo removal clinics and have set up numerous relationships with medical directors both for their tattoo removal clinics as well as other medical ventures. They’ll help laser tattoo removal training students understand how easy this step can be and offer help during and after the laser training course.

Please call New Look Laser College at 713-783-2000 if you would like to learn more.

Laser Safety Training – Class 4 Lasers

Sunday, December 7th, 2008

Class 4 lasers include all lasers with beam power greater than class 3B, including lasers used for tattoo removal such as the Medlite C6 and Affinity QS.

By definition, a class-4 laser can burn the skin, in addition to potentially devastating and permanent eye damage as a result of direct or diffuse beam viewing. These lasers may ignite combustible materials, and thus may represent a fire risk. Class 4 lasers must be equipped with a key switch and a safety interlocks. Lasers used for tattoo removal will likely have multiple interlocks and a number of other safety mechanisms, including a foot switch, emergency stop button, etc.

Many lasers used for medical, industrial, and research purposes fall into this category.

Laser Safety Training – Class 3 Lasers

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

As part of New Look Laser College’s commitment to provide education on laser safety, here’s the next part of our review of laser classes. Our tattoo removal training course focuses on Class 4 lasers used for laser tattoo removal.

Class III lasers and laser systems (medium power) produce radiation that can cause eye damage when viewed directly, or when a specular reflection is viewed. A diffuse reflection is usually not a hazard.

Class 3 lasers are medium power lasers or laser systems that require control measures to prevent viewing of the direct beam. Control measures emphasize preventing exposure of the eye to the primary or specularly reflected beam.

Examples of Class 3 Lasers

* Visible CW HeNe lasers above 1 mW, not exceeding 5 mW radiant power.
* Visible cw HeNe lasers above 5 mW, but not exceeding 500 mW radiant power

Laser Safety Training – Class 2 Lasers

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Class 2 lasers are familiar to many of us – many laser pointers fall into this category. These lasers are safe because the blink reflex will limit exposure to no more than 0.25 seconds. Among the criteria for these lasers are (1) visible light lasers (400 nanometers to 700 nanometers); (2) up to 1mW of continuous wave output or up to 0.25 seconds or if the light is not spatially coherent.

The lasers used for tattoo removal are Class 4 and they present a direct and reflected radiation risk to practitioners, patients, and by-standards. At New Look Laser College’s laser tattoo removal training program we provide extensive training and practice to students to make sure they are in full command of laser safety principles. The protocols are easy to remember and will become second-nature once they’ve been followed a few times. We emphasize the importance of them so that our laser training students don’t get lax once they’ve started their practice and start taking shortcuts.

Laser Safety Training – Class 1 Lasers

Monday, December 1st, 2008

As part of New Look Laser College’s laser tattoo removal training program, we review laser safety protocols extensively. One of the elements of the laser training is reviewing the types of lasers and risks posed by each. Here is a review of Class 1 lasers:

A class 1 laser is safe under all conditions of normal use. Examples include high power lasers with radiation blocked by an enclosure than prevents external emission. If the outer casing of such a laser were to be opened, the laser would be shut down. A laser printer would be an example of a Class 1 laser.

A second type class 1 laser is a Class 1M laser. Under normal operating conditions these laser cannot producing damaging levels of radiation unless the laser beam is viewed with a telescope or eye-loupe.
